Frequently Asked Questions

Here we're trying to answer most of the questions from equipment requirements to travel expenses. Don't forget, every wedding is different. So give us a call or email us with your details regarding date and location and we'll go from there.

How much do you charge?

We have several packages that start at $1500 for a three hour show in the Chicagoland area. Reduced rates are available on weekdays and some Sundays.

Where can I come to meet you and hear you play?

We perform between 4 and 6 nights a week. To see our monthly Show Schedule, go to our Frank & Dave Schedule page.

How do you get such a big sound from just the two of you?

We use state of the art rhythm programmers that add the drums and bass. These are painstakingly programmed by us, measure by measure for each song. They sound extremely realistic and "live" because they are! Each drum sound and bass note is a digitized recording of an actual drum or bass recorded in a studio. This technology allows us much greater flexibility with volume and space restrictions. This technology also allows us to perform at much quieter volumes than most other bands in smaller rooms, and yet with far more energy than would otherwise be possible. We are told on a regular basis that we sound like a full band!

Can you play quietly enough so that guests can still hear and talk without having to shout?

Absolutely. One of our strong points is our ability to play quietly, particularly in the early stages of the reception, or in smaller rooms where people also want to be able to talk.

Would you be willing to learn a new song for us?

If given enough notice (about 6 weeks in advance) we will try our best to learn a new song for you. If we would not be able to do so, we can always add this song to our DJ list.

How many breaks do you take? For how long?

We prefer to take one 30 minute break during a 3 hour performance. But depending on how many people are dancing and enjoying the show, we can skip or adjust our brakes, especially towards the end of the evening.

Is there any music during the breaks?

We will play your chosen music through our soundsystem or play a variety of slower/faster songs. We encourage you to let us know roughly what type of music you prefer and if there is a style of music or a song you would rather not hear.

Do you also M.C.?

Yes, read more about it on our Services page.

Do I provide Frank & Dave with a meal?

This would be very much appreciated, since we can not leave the room. And starting from our setup time until everything is packed up, this can easily be 10 or more hours.

How long does it take you to set up?

Much depends on the facility we will be performing in of course, but in general it takes about 2 hours to get everything set up and sound checked.

What do you wear?

Depending on your Dress code, we can wear anthing from Formal wear to "Island Casual".

What are the payment terms?

The deposit is $500 with the balance due on or before the night of the event.

How much is overtime?

Overtime is available and may be booked in ½ hour increments for $200. You may "book" overtime on the spot, right at the end of the contracted evening. We'll play for as long as the guests are still partying!

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we use PayPal and can send you an invoice. You don't need to have a PayPal account in order to pay us. However, we prefer a check or cash in order to avoid the credit card fees.

Is there a microphone for the toasts and blessing?

Yes.

Can I pick a “DO PLAY” and “DON’T PLAY” list of music?

Most definitely, if you feel strongly about something, just let us know.

Do you use a contract?

Yes, we use a contract. This ensures that there are no miscommunications between us and you. Our contract is fairly straightforward but we will be more than happy to discuss any specific provisions with you. The contract is for your protection, it guarantees that we will resrve your date.

How much room and power do you require?

We would like a stage area of 8 x 16, if possible. To create the best interaction between the band and dancing guests, the dance floor should be directly in front of the band. If the bar is in another room, it directs guests away from the dance floor as well as making it difficult to communicate the bouquet & garter toss, special dances, and other announcements. We require at least two dedicated 20 amp circuits. Speakers will be located off the stage on either side of the band. Larger stages are helpful in that it provides us more room to move and interact, and permit us to locate speakers and light trees on stage rather than off to the side.

Travel Charges

There is no travel charge for any weddings held within the Chicagoland area including all suburbs. If we need to drive more than 2 hours (one way), we will include the travel charges in our overall fee. There will also be the need to book two additional hotel rooms if we need to travel more than 2 hours (one way).

Client Testimonials

We were extremely happy with our decision to hire Frank and Dave as our band for our wedding. Not only did they coordinate with us regarding our music for the actual outdoor ceremony and play guitar during our terraced cocktail hour, but after the dinner reception their performance on stage was likened to a concert. Everyone danced like crazy and had a blast. Frank and Dave helped make our wedding perfect.

Guest Performances

If you would like to have someone sing a song or perform with the band, we are happy to do this as long as advance notice is given. However, due to the high level of preparation that is done for each event, we are unable to accommodate last minute requests. That is, we cannot have somebody coming up on the day of the event and sitting in.
